Data Refresh Guide
The data for POS is refreshed from Stock every hour. It first checks to see if there is a JSON change from last time, and if so will run the import script.
Menu Items
All menu items are imported into POS when the synchronisation is run. POS cannot delete menu items as they are tied to transactions.
To make a menu item as not used any more you must set it to Inactive in Stock. Do NOT delete it in Stock.
Menu Item Prices
When an import is run all menu item prices are imported to the menu item. It will also clean up any prices that stock no longer sends. It is safe to delete prices off an item in Stock.
Menu Item Categories
When an import is run all categories are linked to a menu item. It will then check for any that are linked still and not sent by Stock and remove them.
Deals
Deals are a complex data structure. These will import fine the first time but it's at your own risk to modify a deal after it's created. It was agreed that a deal will not be edited and if you do need to edit it you make a new one and make the old one have an end date of now.
Modifiers
Modifiers will be imported and never removed. You can update the names of them at any time.
Condiments, Add ons and take offs
Condiments are essentially a link to a category of items to show. These are safe to update/delete any time. It will clean up missing one.
